Halen Golgo

Hundreds of years before the reign of King Ace thee Insane, a sump drift captain saved the settlement of Down Town from destruction at the hands of renegade Rat Skins. The captain, who authorities later dubbed " pirate", was Halen Golgo. Halen was a half breed, half Rat Skin and half mutant. Stories are told that his mother was Rat Skin medicine woman and his father a rogue Scavvie wyrd.

For two decades he along with several unified Down Town gangs protected the Hive Bottom from all who sought to bring harm to its inhabitants. Halen was so influential that during his time as de facto mayor, murders and gunplay were almost non existent. Rumors spread that he he was a sorcerer and soon the Redemption and gangs loyal to House Cawdor began attacking Halen's friends and associates.

Rather than risk Down Town being destroyed with more fighting Halen Golgo lead the loyal few and their families out into the harsh wild that is the Ash Wastes. They settled and built a small village in the soft ash dunes hundreds of miles from Hive City. It became a place of hope for those willing to start a new life.

The shanty town still bears his name today, even if few remember the story. The town of Golgo is a haven for outcasts, wanted criminals and the forgotten souls who found Hive life to hard to bear.
